Emilee's High School graduation 2008

The time has finally come. After all the hard work, grey hairs, procrastination, and late nights, Emilee's high school career has finally come to a close. The ceremony was suprisingly short considering this was the biggest graduating class basic has had in years. The choir sang a few songs and ironically Emilee was right in front of the microphone. Multiple people commented on how she was the only one they could hear.

The day didn't end with the ceremony. After it was over, we rushed home to prepare for a graduation party for Kol and Emilee in our backyard. We had costco hotdogs, various salads and some delicious deserts. Many of our neighborhood friends and family came. And a few of Kol and Emilee's friends showed up. The party overall was a huge success, and it seemed as though everyone enjoyed themselves.

A couple of days before, Emilee went to her choir banquet and received a few awards. The most impressive of the awards she received was the outstanding senoir award. This award was given to two choral students (one boy, one girl) who were graduating seniors and had dedicated themselves to the choir program for at least the past year. At the Senior Awards night, the choir teacher announced Michael Scott's name and the plaque had Emilee's name on it. So the boy got up there and they had nothing to give him. Then they called Emilee's name up and gave her the plaque. It was quite embarrassing.

Here we go!

Can you believe it? We're here! We've finally got up the courage to start a blog! :)

What's been happening? Well...

Emilee is a senior in high school, and she's getting ready to go up to Cedar City for a talent scholarship audition. She got accepted to SUU a couple of weeks ago and is so excited for the new experience. Lately she's been looking at prices, and she's trying to figure out how in the world is she going to afford it! All this talk about money and where she's going to live and where she's going to get a job is really making her nervous. We'll see how it goes...

Mom is still a super sub. She's been taking a lot of jobs lately and is working really hard. Obviously we don't have a picture to give her new look justice, but we will work on that. We haven't taken a picture of her in almost a year. Ironic isn't it?

Dad still gives cheesy grins every time someone takes a picture of him. He must want to be remembered as a comical man. Go figure.

Other than that, life is pretty boring here in the desert. We'll try and keep you posted on the happenings down here in sin city.
